Build around the attacks you can use now
Start with Threefold Strike and Sacred Judgment, then add the skills that fit your level and mana recovery. Sacred Orbs unlocks at level 10, Furious Fist at 15, Piercing Lunge at 20 and Spirit Twin at 30. You do not need to wait for the final attack unlock to build a dependable farm.
Pick an attack family before investing in a rune set. Hundred Hands supports a Furious Fist direction, Serpent’s Tongue a Piercing Lunge direction, and Wheel of Nine Heavens a Sacred Orbs direction. Compare the set’s actual bonuses with the stats you give up when replacing gear.
See all Monk skill unlocks ↗Chain Force now applies Vulnerable
In 1.0.0h, Chain Force applies Vulnerable for three seconds after every seven of your own Basic Attack casts, to enemies directly hit. Its older extra-damage behavior on every third cast is gone. Build around a periodic debuff window instead of treating it as a constant damage bonus.
Repeated casts and minion or summon attacks do not advance the counter. Changing areas or dying resets it. Start comparisons in the same area and watch a complete attack cycle, especially if you use Spirit Twin or effects that repeat attacks.
A companion that benefits from Vulnerable can fit this direction, but the condition must be active when the damage lands. Lord of the Crimson Vale also applies Vulnerable through its own ability and now has 30 carriage capacity. Compare its contribution with a companion that fixes your mana or survival problem.

Mirror Steps helps during its buff window; it does not provide a permanent 60% bonus. For an unattended setup, compare the complete rotation, potion consumption and deaths alongside any burst of damage.
| Option | Unlock | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Piercing Lunge | Level 20 | It now hits enemies along the full lunge path. Observe nearby targets as well as the front of the pack. |
| Whirlwind Staff | Level 35 | Tornadoes spawn around the Monk and seek enemies more reliably. Compare several packs rather than one isolated target. |
| Mirror Steps talent | Check your talent tree | After a dodge: 60% Physical damage for 4 seconds. The buff depends on dodging. |
Turn a promising setup into a steady farm
- Choose a zone where you can complete several packs without intervention.
- Keep the zone, game version and run duration comparable while changing one skill, rune threshold or companion.
- Watch mana gaps, missed targets, potion charges and deaths through a full run.
- Record XP and gold over the whole session, including town trips, then repeat the better setup for a longer session.
