Eight Grand runes for each class
The 1.0.1 update adds 32 Legendary skill runes: eight for Warrior, eight for Sorcerer, eight for Hunter and eight for Monk. Each is the Grand counterpart of a Rare skill rune, with stronger attributes and a larger ability-level bonus.
Match the affected ability to the attacks you use. An improved rune for a skill outside your rotation may be less useful than a lower-rarity rune that supports your main source of damage.

A six-piece effect belongs to the complete set threshold. Compare it with the attributes and other bonuses you would lose when changing pieces. Test a boss and ordinary packs when their target patterns differ.

Rune-set drops are more frequent
The developer increased rune-set drop rate by 40%. That is a relative increase to the prior rate, not a stated 40% chance of receiving a set rune. Keep your route and session length comparable when assessing how useful the change is for your collection.
For a Grand rune, read the ability name, ability-level bonus and attributes before keeping or trading it. Use those displayed properties to decide whether it supports the build you are assembling.
Review precious runes before selling
Grand runes are precious items and can be traded at Auction. The game now asks for confirmation when selling precious tradable runes or commodities, including through Sell All. Review that confirmation carefully when clearing an inventory.
Auction House’s Buy Items option, added in 1.0.0i, opens within Steam. Compare the current listing and the rune’s actual properties; a listed price is separate from its value to your build.
Compare the build, not just the rune’s rarity
- Keep the same equipped abilities and target when comparing a Rare rune with its Grand counterpart.
- Check sustained mana use alongside the higher ability-level bonus.
- When changing a set threshold, compare the full combination of effects and attributes.
- Record the actual farming outcome after the Training Dummy comparison.
